The short answer
Fit the Stylish if the unit will be looked at every day or the room is small: it is 189mm deep against the Comfora's 225mm, it comes in white, black or silver rather than white only, and at 2.5kW it is meaningfully more efficient, with a SEER of 8.74 against 7.20. Fit the Comfora if the room is large or the budget is doing real work: it starts at £2,195 against the Stylish at £2,500, and it goes up to 7.1kW where the Stylish stops at 5.0kW. The efficiency gap is at the small sizes. By 5.0kW the two are level, and at that size you are paying for the finish and the slimmer case rather than for lower running costs.

The efficiency difference is real, and it is size dependent
At 2.5kW the Stylish is the more efficient unit by a clear margin, and it is rated A+++ for both heating and cooling where the Comfora is a step below. In running cost terms that is about 8p an hour against 9p, which is a penny, and over a decade of genuine use it is worth having.
At 5.0kW the picture changes completely. The published SEER figures are 7.33 for the Stylish and 7.30 for the Comfora, which is the same number for any practical purpose, and both work out at 18p an hour. Whatever you are paying the extra £1,005 for at that size, it is not lower bills.
This is worth knowing because the usual assumption is that the premium unit is the efficient one across the board. For this pair it is true at the bottom of the range and not true at the top.
Fit the Stylish when
The unit is in a room you care how it looks in
At 189mm deep it stands off the wall noticeably less than anything else we fit, and it is the only range where you get a choice of finish. In a living room or a main bedroom, on a wall you face, that is the whole argument and it is a reasonable one.
The room is small and the unit will run a lot
The efficiency gap is at 2.0 to 3.5kW, which is bedroom and study territory. A unit in a home office running most of a working day is where the better SEER and SCOP actually show up on a bill.
You want it heating through the winter
A SCOP of 5.15 against 4.61 is the larger of the two gaps, and heating runs for many more hours a year in this country than cooling does.
Fit the Comfora when
The room needs more than 5.0kW
This is the one that is not a judgement call. The Stylish range stops at 5.0kW. If the room is an open plan ground floor needing 6.0 or 7.1kW, the Comfora covers it and the Stylish does not.
The wall is short of space
At 770mm across, the 2.5 and 3.5kW Comfora is the narrowest indoor unit we fit, 28mm narrower than the Stylish, and Daikin designed it to go above a door. In a box room or a loft with a dormer eating the wall, width beats depth.
The budget is the constraint
At 2.5kW the Comfora saves you £305, and it is the range we hold in stock, so it is usually the quickest to get fitted. It is the cheapest way into a Daikin and there is nothing second rate about it.
They are equally quiet, whatever the price suggests
Both units publish 19dB(A) on their quietest setting at the small sizes. The Stylish holds that figure across 2.0 to 3.5kW and the Comfora reaches it at 2.5kW. If silence in a bedroom is the deciding factor, it does not decide between these two.
What neither of them gives you
Both are the mid range of Daikin's wall mounted line rather than the top of it. Neither carries the Flash Streamer air purifying or the Heat Boost function that the Perfera has, and if air filtration is what you are actually shopping for, neither of these is the answer and the Perfera is worth a look.
The Comfora's honest limitation is that it is white and only white, and that from 5.0kW up the case grows to 990mm across and 263mm deep, which ends the above the door option that makes the small sizes so useful. The Stylish's honest limitation is the ceiling at 5.0kW, and a price that is hard to justify at that size on running costs alone.
